Data Center Structural Engineer, AWS DC Design Engineering — Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers and specialists and help deliver safety, security, capacity, and cost efficiency for our customers. As a DC Structural Engineer at AWS, you will be part of the design team for Amazon data centers in the Americas Region and impact projects globally. You will work with Architects, Engineers, and Designers to solve problems, review milestone drawings, address large-scale implementation issues, and be responsible for structural design requirements. Responsibilities

Design resilient, cost-effective data center facilities with a focus on security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Provide technical guidance to team members and review milestone drawings prepared by consultants. Solve large-scale implementation issues related to structural design for data center facilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet AWS standards for safety and security while supporting growth in demand. Basic Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. PE or SE license. 7+ years of experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects. 5+ years of design experience for Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial, or Residential Tower facilities. Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE. Experience with tilt-up and precast concrete structures, structural steel and concrete systems, seismic and wind loading, and forensic analysis of building design and construction defects. Experience in review of milestone drawings and calculation packages. Experience in design and calculation for auxiliary framing systems supporting cable tray, conduit, and ductwork. Experience in design and review of non-structural components and non-building structures. Ability to evaluate constructability of new technologies and determine construction methods for data center equipment and facilities. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year to $185,000/year, depending on geographic market, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
