AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to AWS services. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain and collaborate with software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. As a DC Structural Engineer at AWS, you will be part of the design team for Amazon data centers in the Americas region and contribute to projects around the world. You will work with architects, engineers, and designers to solve problems, review milestone drawings, and ensure structural design requirements are met for prototypical data center facilities. Responsibilities

Be part of the design team for Amazon data centers, focusing on structural design and related engineering challenges. Provide technical guidance to team members, review milestone drawings by consultants, and resolve large-scale implementation issues. Develop and maintain world-class uptime through secure, efficient, and cost-effective structural designs that meet AWS demand. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with safety, security, and scalability objectives. Basic Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering. 5+ years of experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects. 3+ years of design experience for Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities. Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering (PE) license; SE engineering license preferred. Proficiency in building codes and regulations, including IBC and ASCE. Proficiency in seismic analysis and design; experience with tilt-up and precast concrete structures, structural steel systems, seismic design, wind and snow loading, and forensic analysis. Experience in value engineering for building structural systems and in design of auxiliary framing for cable trays, conduit, ductwork, etc. Experience in design and review of non-structural components and non-building structures.
