Sr. Manager, Professional Recruiting — Network Architect (Dallas, TX) Trinity Corporate IT

is seeking a Network Architect to provide technical leadership for a team of engineers, drive proposal and solutions development, create technology roadmaps and internal documentation, and build/maintain vendor relations. The Network Architect will work directly with internal customers to formalize requirement packages and will ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency; oversee project compliance; and drive automation/continuous improvement across all networks.

What you’ll do

Serve as the expert in all networking aspects of Trinity Industries IT Operations, including direct services and services provided by external providers.

Collaborate with management to optimize network services and costs.

Architect strategic solutions for network infrastructure design and architecture, lead installations, and troubleshoot and resolve service outages.

Oversee the integrity of network boundaries, manage firewalls (Firepower, Fortigate), IDS/IPS, protections, and other defenses against cybersecurity threats.

Develop and report system performance metrics; map the entire network and remote site connectivity; maintain inventory of software/hardware in the topology.

Develop, maintain, and test network-centric disaster recovery and incident response plans.

Perform capacity planning, tuning, and develop/document standards for all aspects of network infrastructure.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree, preferably IT or Computer Science.

8+ years’ combined network engineering and leadership experience.

Cisco Certified (CCNP or higher) or Fortinet Certified (FCNS+ or higher) preferred.

Hands-on automation experience using scripting languages (Python preferred).

Experience developing comprehensive proposals from formalized network requirements capture.

Extensive collaboration experience across vendor, customer, and peer groups.

Extensive experience in: SD-WAN/BGP/OSPF; Switching (VLAN/VXLAN); Firewalls (Firepower/Fortigate); Load balancers (Netscaler); Gateways; Data/voice convergence (Cisco UC); Video services; Network protocols; Datacenter networking (VXLAN); Cloud services networking (Azure); Wireless (Cisco WLC); Carrier/service provider management.

Experience troubleshooting multi-tier Internet applications platforms and cloud networking interfaces.

Deep understanding of network protocols and their applications.

Experience performing assessments/audits and implementing network security and audit controls to address issues, weaknesses, or regulatory requirements.

Experience with application and network-layer cryptography and virtualization.

Competency in using tools to enhance network engineering, monitoring, automation, and troubleshooting.
