Clearance Requirement:

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance at the level required by the Government. An active clearance is not required at the time of hire; however, the ability to be adjudicated as clearable is mandatory for this position.

Work Schedule (Hybrid):

Requires up to three (3) days onsite at the customer\'s facility and two (2) remote days; Schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the customer and may be adjusted without prior notice.

Position Overview:

One of our federal customers is seeking a highly experienced

Senior Lead Server Engineer

to provide strategic and technical leadership for enterprise data center and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations. This role oversees server and storage systems, supports modernization efforts, and delivers advanced 3rd-level support for IaaS and SaaS solutions.

The Senior Lead Server Engineer will evaluate emerging technologies, implement best-practice system architectures, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and organizational goals. The position also monitors data center performance, supports disaster recovery and contingency operations, and drives innovation to enhance operational efficiency and mission effectiveness.

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract and subsequent government approval.

Requirements

Plan and lead major technology initiatives, evaluate performance outcomes, and recommend changes to support short-term project growth and long-term success

Serve as a technical expert across multiple projects, providing guidance on complex system and infrastructure issues

Develop a thorough understanding of the customer’s organization, goals, business needs, and enterprise architectures. Establish and enforce system development and integration methodologies and standards, including ELCM

Facilitate the secure collection, storage, and integrity of electronic data, ensuring appropriate access while continually assessing technology needs to support mission objectives and prepare for Cloud Services

Provide advanced 3rd-level support and innovative solutions for IT services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)

Monitor servers, services, and core applications; develop and execute recovery procedures for equipment or application failures. Support Contingency Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery Programs (DRP)

Oversee the data center environment and maintain comprehensive hardware inventories

Develop system architectures in alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles, ensuring business solutions meet strategic goals and investment priorities

Apply best practices in the design, development, integration, and implementation of systems

Employ business process improvement methods to optimize operational workflows

Required Qualifications

Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

5–8 years of progressive experience in server administration, systems engineering, or a related IT field as an individual contributor

Foundational IT certification, such as CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+

Advanced, role-specific certification in their functional area, such as Microsoft Server certifications (MCSA, MCSP, MCSE, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate) or VMware certifications (VMware Professional, VMware Advanced Professional, VMware Specialist)
