Position Location
This position is hybrid, combining regular in-person presence at our Washington, DC office with the option of two days of remote work each week. Please Note

Responsibilities
Multimedia Asset Creation & Management (50%)
Create compelling video content to present research and insights; conceptualize, develop, shoot, and edit videos; create motion graphics and animations. Ensure high-quality photos by planning, shooting, and editing assets. Design general graphic content that aligns with the Brookings brand, including graphics, data visualizations, animations, and interactive digital content for various platforms. Manage multimedia projects, scope and prioritize tasks, meet quality standards and deadlines. Maintain a library of multimedia assets with proper organization and tagging. Manage institutional accounts with photo and video licensing platforms (e.g., Reuters, Shutterstock) and provide support to users across Brookings. YouTube Management (35%)
Own day-to-day management of Brookings’ YouTube channel, including content planning, scheduling, and publishing. Develop and implement strategies to optimize YouTube for search and discovery, increase subscriber growth, and enhance viewer engagement using data-driven insights. Track, analyze, and report on key metrics. Serve as institutional expert on YouTube. Communications/Internal Support Strategies (15%)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate multimedia into campaigns; tailor products to identified audiences; support governance, training, and best practices materials related to visual brand and multimedia standards. Stay up to date and advise leadership on the latest web, design, and social media tools and trends. Contribute to internal team and organizational work that shapes systems and culture. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design, video production, photography, and multimedia content creation. Experience working in a fast-paced environment is desirable. Knowledge of website development, social media, and video production is essential; experience in a public policy setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Strong understanding of visual design principles and visual storytelling, with attention to detail. Ability to conceptualize, shoot, and edit engaging video content, including motion graphics and animations. Proficiency in creating on-brand visual materials for digital and print; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video software (Premiere Pro, After Effects). Photography skills and experience managing a photo library are required. Experience developing interactive media elements (infographics, maps) is desirable. Expertise in YouTube management and optimization is essential. Basic HTML and WordPress knowledge is helpful; strong knowledge of social media platforms and best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Collaborative mindset with cross-team experience, discretion, poise, and mature judgment. Stay up-to-date with the latest web, design, and social media tools and trends. Additional Information
