Lloyds Banking Group is a leading project finance bank. Infrastructure & Project Finance Credit (I&PF Credit) is the credit team supporting this business area. We are the 2nd line of defense within Corporate Institutional Banking Credit. The team conducts independent credit analysis for facilities in infrastructure and project finance, covering Renewables, PFI/PPP, Economic and Digital Infrastructure. The role will be based in New York and will expand the I&PF Credit team, working closely with London and front-line colleagues in both the NY and London offices. The role will facilitate ongoing management of the book and growth of the franchise. This is a senior management role and will carry line management responsibility in due course. You will contribute to the Group’s Sustainability agenda by applying structured finance experience toward the transition to renewable energy, with a clear focus on risk. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of I&PF Credit, you will be one of 5 Directors in I&PF Credit, leading and line-managing a team of credit professionals specializing in Infrastructure and Project Finance. You will be responsible for their personal and technical development. Liaise with asset managers, originators, relationship managers, product partners, and clients; shape structured credit proposals to balance risk and reward. Oversee independent credit assessments for sanctioning decisions, including analysis of company information, technical and market due diligence, and identification of key strengths and risks. Submissions include new-to-bank business, increased lending, variations from existing terms, restructures and annual reviews. Monitor and control credit exposures, communicating with senior Risk colleagues and sanctioners to maintain policy and regulatory compliance. Guide and support the team in customer, sector and market research to ensure assessments have external context; apply sound judgement and sensitivity analysis of cash flow models. Lead on production of periodic sector and policy reviews. Maintain records to satisfy internal and external requirements, including data quality and statutory reporting. Assess proposed transactions against Group Policy and supervise the deal origination team accordingly. Foster an encouraging learning environment, emphasizing teamwork and personal development in a high-profile, demanding setting; promote innovation and simplification across teams. Qualifications
Education and experience required: 10 years of experience in a relevant field or in a similar financial institution Advanced degree in a relevant field from a recognized university Professional certifications relevant to the role are a plus Key Skills and Knowledge: Existing credit risk management experience in US infrastructure and project finance (including renewables), with in-depth technical understanding of these sectors. Strong communication and influencing skills; comfortable challenging the status quo and explaining decisions. Ability to balance conflicting demands and deliver to tight timescales; quick to learn and adapt to new challenges. Sound judgement, strong decision-making, attention to detail, collaboration, and good line management skills; passion for the asset classes covered. Ability to travel for on-site due diligence visits. Salary Range:
$215,000 - $240,000
