Nurse Consultant I (Family, Infant and Preschool Program) Base pay range: $59,732.00/yr - $98,557.00/yr Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p with occasional evening hours Responsibilities

Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing early intervention and family support to children from birth through age eight with or at risk for disabilities and their families. Provides nursing-related assessments and evaluations for children; instructs parents and caregivers in nursing-related activities to attain desired outcomes. Provides consultation and technical assistance to staff, community paraprofessionals, professionals, and agencies. Learns and uses cross-disciplinary evidence-based early intervention practices, including caregiver coaching, family-centered practices, resource-based practices, and natural learning environment practices. Maintains contact with referral sources and develops relationships with potential sources to increase referrals. Participates in activities supporting FIPP's mission by engaging in research, publications, program evaluation, training, and other activities related to children\'s healthy development and family wellbeing. Qualifications

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina with one year of experience in the area of specialization (early childhood). Knowledge of basic nursing principles and techniques, health and development of children birth through eight. Knowledge of health and wellness issues for families, family systems theories, and family-centered practices. Knowledge of community systems and the ability to provide patients and families with information on services (FIPP and others); ability to locate and develop community resources; experience in evaluating children and families and in developing community resources, research, training and model development. Skilled in child assessments, communicating with families at all levels of understanding, actively listening, and helping families identify strengths, goals, resources, and action plans. Position 60048820; Salary Grade MH16; Recruitment Range $59,732.00 - $98,557.00 Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) except Articles 6 and 7 per G.S. 126-5(c1)(37). About The Family, Infant And Preschool Program (FIPP) : FIPP is a community-based component of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. It is an early childhood intervention and family support program serving western North Carolina since 1972. Mission: promote optimal health and development of young children, especially those with or at risk for disabilities, and to disseminate research, resources and professional development to improve service delivery. About J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center : An ICF-certified facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities, serving 37 western NC counties.
