Robert Half is seeking an IT Director Consultant to lead strategic and technical initiatives for a growing organization in Boise, Idaho. This contract opportunity is 4-6 months with possible extension and is onsite in Boise, ID. Work schedule: 8 - 5 pm (Flexible). Responsibilities
About 60% strategic and 40% technical responsibilities Initial focus will be on rebuilding IT's reputation within the company and the following projects Develop, implement, and test a Disaster Recovery, Backup, and Business Continuity Plan - including evaluation and migration to a more effective backup solution New server acquisition, implementation, testing, and migration to improve high availability, failover, and replication capabilities Migration of one server from VMware to Hyper-V Deployment of an IT Asset Management system to ensure consistency, accountability, and ongoing accuracy Redesign and realignment of Active Directory (AD) policies, ensuring strategic alignment with Intune policies BitLocker encryption deployment across applicable devices Implementation of Conditional Access VPN to enhance secure remote access CIS Hardening of systems to ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices Requirements

Server Administration - managing, maintaining, and optimizing Windows-based servers System Architecture - designing scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure Active Directory (AD) & Identity Management - administration, security policies, and integrations Virtualization - VMware/Hyper-V or equivalent, including performance optimization Microsoft 365 Tenant Management - administration of Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and licensing Scripting & Automation - PowerShell or equivalent for efficiency and process improvements IT Project Leadership - experience planning, leading, and executing technical implementations Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity - proven capability to create, implement, and validate a comprehensive disaster recovery plan that ensures resilience and continuity of operations All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
