Electrical/Senior Electrical Engineer

to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. This person will be part of an integrated team responsible for the electrical design in support of Data Center and other Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The Data Center Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients, project managers, electrical team members, architects, other disciplines, contractors, marketing, and all team members. They will develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, and perform RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, site investigations, and overall construction administration. The role includes mentoring and training younger electrical engineers. Primary duties include: developing electrical design for data center/mission critical projects; understanding client requirements around reliability, growth, cost, sustainability, schedules, and future flexibility; coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; attending design meetings; conducting schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions; participating in code compliance reviews; providing design support during construction including field observations, submittal/review, and RFI support; and travel as needed. #### Responsibilities Mentoring/Managing Help grow a team that promotes career growth, high-quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and safety. Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists with a multi-disciplinary team through project development. Mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of junior staff. Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule. Technical Lead electrical design for data center/mission critical projects. Collaborate with clients on requirements for reliability, growth, first cost vs life cycle costs, sustainability, schedules, and future flexibility. Provide detailed design and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Lead electrical discussions in design meetings. Perform schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions with Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines. Participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies. Provide design support during construction including field observations, submittal/shop drawing reviews, and RFI support. Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices could be required. This would be communicated in advance to coordinate with project work and personal life. Other duties as needed. #### Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Strong operating knowledge of Revit MEP Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis Data center/mission critical experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm Local candidates preferred Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems) Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license Strong computer skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, Easy Power Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture What We Believe HDR is our company. The compensation range is location-dependent and based on experience and education. The targeted salary range for this position is $79,734 - $148,077.
