Job DescriptionJob Description Senior Wetlands Department Manager Norfolk, VA | Full-Time | In-Person Stokes Environmental Associates, Ltd. Stokes Environmental Associates is hiring a full-time Senior Wetlands Department Manager to manage wetland consulting projects, and support business development at our location in Norfolk, Virginia. This position includes staff management responsibilities and hands-on tasks for wetland delineations, permitting, wetland mitigation bank

development/management,

project management, and client interaction. This is a leadership position, with a mix of field tasks, supervisory and management responsibilities, and development of our wetland consulting department. Responsibilities: Supervise, perform, and provide technical guidance on wetland delineations, permitting, wetland mitigation banking, and wetland-related tasks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements among all team members. Oversee wetland projects from start to finish - project scope, schedule, budget, field tasks, interaction with regulatory staff, compliance, and deliverables. Write and review technical reports, permit applications, and proposals. Maintain and develop client relationships, helping to develop new business. Coordinate with regulatory agencies (USACE, DEQ). Supervise, assist, and mentor junior staff as needed and support business activities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline 8+ years of professional experience in wetlands or environmental consulting. Completion of training in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation methods. Strong working knowledge of wetland indicators (vegetation, hydrology, soils). Experience preparing joint permit applications. Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel, and technical writing. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience leading teams and working in a flexible environment. Additional Non-mandatory Qualifications: Experience with Phase I/II ESAs, NEPA reviews, endangered species assessments Master’s degree in an environmental field Education in management or business (Bachelor’s or MBA) About Us: Stokes Environmental Associates, Ltd.
