Senior Director of Engineering

Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr The Head of Engineering provides life cycle asset and facilities management leadership for the site by implementing strategies that assure sustainable performance for compliance and effectiveness. The incumbent is responsible for all activities related to Site Engineering, Capital and Facilities Reliability Operations, Maintenance. Scope includes all plant infrastructure, facilities reliability, automation, and utilities programs; as well as all aspects of engineering: civil, electrical and mechanical (HVAC, compressed air, purified water, etc.). In addition, the incumbent is responsible for project scoping, capital and expense budgeting, and day-to-day management of site capital projects as defined in the capital project management program. Responsibilities: Scope includes all plant infrastructure, facilities reliability, automation, and utilities programs; as well as all aspects of engineering: civil, electrical and mechanical (HVAC, compressed air, purified water, etc.) Responsible for project scoping, capital and expense budgeting, and day-to-day management of site capital projects as defined in the capital project management program. Develops and delivers Facility Reliability (maintenance) budget for the site Works with minimal supervision Sets scope, budget, and schedule Initiates CEA funding, Key Project Reviews and financial forecasts Manages project from initiation thru to successful operation Reviews Maintenance Dashboard and Scorecard trends Leads site coordination with Maintenance Excellence CoP Leaders (Maintenance, Utilities and Automation Excellence) Maintains a standard site structure and reviews organizational effectiveness through internal benchmarks Accountable for achievement of project objectives (safety, budget, quality, time) and defined expectations of the principal, by understanding, negotiation, and agreement to the expectations and key success factors of principal Accountable for project controls: project cost estimating, planning /scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control/ forecasting, effective project progress control, contracting/procurement-plans, cash flow management and financial status of the project Proper safety attitude adopted and carried by all project participants Ensure implementation of the Project EHS plan Organizing and effective project-site security Align/comply to Technical Standards and guidelines applicable in pharmaceutical and biotech facilities Ensures site employees are fully trained Ensures adherence to regulations and to company policies Education, Skills and Knowledge BS in Engineering discipline or related area of study Minimum 10 years applicable project or design experience within engineering function Minimum 4 years of proven experience in pharmaceutical / biotech projects, with thorough working knowledge of cGMPs, regulatory requirements, engineering, automation, and validation principles required Experience leading an engineering team for both existing and new production facilities design In depth knowledge of Engineering concept and science. Capability to recommend installation, construction, improvement and investment Develop comprehensive short- and long-term plans, assigns responsibilities delegates, controls and monitor progress Knowledge of financial system, establish and maintain realistic budget uses financial and quantitative information effectively to manage. Know the business shows understandings of issues relevant to the broad organization and business Working knowledge of cGMPs, regulatory requirements, engineering, automation, and validation principles required Seniority level
