Caltrans District 3 Location: Alameda County, California (San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge area; Toll Plaza, Oakland, CA 94608). Salary:
$6,986.00 - $8,925.00

Oversee daily building and engineering operations, maintenance, special projects and repairs of building systems, bridge structure dehumidification units, and electrical substations for the State's 7 Bay Area Toll Facilities and toll bridge structures. Manage maintenance staffing, activities, assignments and supervision of staff who troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building systems including dehumidification systems, storm water pumps, HVAC systems, transformers, back flow testing, fire pumps, lighting, sewage lift pumps, boilers, and systems for heating, ventilation, power, water, air compressors, and motors; supervise electrical circuits up to 550 volts and related mechanical systems for buildings and bridges. Be available for overtime and able to respond after hours to emergencies, storms, or special projects; work at heights up to 500 feet and from boats; climb ladders and scaffolding as required. Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license (and any required license for operating state vehicles). Maintain United States EPA Section 608 Technician Certification. Ability to travel statewide and throughout the District 4 Toll Bridge Region as needed. Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required; SOQ must be a maximum of 2 pages, 12-point font, describing relevant experience to the SOQ questions. Resumes and cover letters will not substitute for the SOQ. Knowledge and experience in supervisory/management, workload balancing, employee safety, development, Equal Employment Opportunity policies, and discipline; ability to analyze facts and develop solutions aligned with Caltrans’ mission. Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle. The incumbent must maintain EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
