Assistant Professor (Economics) – Health Economics and related fields Overview

The Department of Economics at UMass Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health Economics and related fields to begin September 1, 2026. The department emphasizes methodological and theoretical pluralism with focus on poverty, inequality, gender, and race, and supports undergraduate majors and the M.A. in Applied Economics. The position is in the Department of Economics, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at UMass Boston. Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Health Economics, Econometrics, and other areas as appropriate. Demonstrate progress toward an excellent scholarly record. Contribute to instruction and mentoring of diverse student groups, including international students. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related discipline by August 31, 2026. Evidence of successful teaching with diverse students; ability to contribute to the department’s pluralistic approach. Ability to teach Health Economics and Econometrics at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Application Process
