Mechanical Engineer – Newport Beach, CA
Full-Time | MEP Consulting Firm
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead the design and coordination of HVAC and mechanical systems from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do
Design HVAC systems for a variety of building types (residential, commercial, and mixed-use). Perform heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software. Select and specify mechanical equipment (fans, chillers, boilers, VAVs, VRF, etc.). Design ductwork and hydronic piping systems, including layout and sizing. Coordinate with electrical and plumbing teams for equipment power and utility requirements. Prepare construction drawings, equipment schedules, and specifications. Ensure designs comply with local codes, Title 24, and green building standards. Attend coordination meetings and conduct field site visits. Provide construction administration support, including RFI responses and submittal reviews. Work closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout project phases. What We’re Looking For
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3–5 years of professional experience in mechanical building system design (MEP required). Note: Academic coursework will NOT be considered as experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; REVIT experience preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical codes, energy compliance, and ventilation requirements. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Detail-oriented with a collaborative, client-focused mindset. Must reside within commuting distance to Newport Beach, CA. What We Offer
