This role is responsible for improving the overall end user experience through automation and design. This position will be responsible for developing and improving the end-user desktop environment. The role will provide operational support for the existing and future end user computing architectures. Responsibilities also include designing solutions to support existing and future services and enhance security posture, while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Desktop Engineering managed solutions.

Develop and implement engineering solutions for the desktop environment

Lead and manage technical projects from conception to completion

Package application deployments for end-user environment using VMware AppStacks and similar technologies

Create technical specifications and architectural designs for complex solutions

Establish technical standards, best practices, and design patterns for the team

Research and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend strategic adoption

Preserve end user profile settings in virtual desktop environments

Troubleshoot application installation, performance, and runtime issues within the desktop environments

Maintain and oversee Operating System base builds to include feature updates, software updates, and/or vulnerability remediation

Meet with Business, IT and Security Leaders to develop requirements and communicate changes to the environment

Challenge the status quo with new ideas and drive innovation for the end user experience

Apply comprehensive knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments

Automate processes in the end-user experience space

Maintain and troubleshoot Office 365 environment

Troubleshoot production problems related to desktop and mobile software applications

Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms

Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, integration and testing tools

Remove barriers and obstacles from end-user technology to enable the business

Provide tactical and strategic input on the overall End User experience

Provide on-call support according to assigned schedule

Document changes, policies and procedures and drawings

Lead projects of various sizes and schedules

Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team

Mentor members of the Desktop Engineering team

Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Skills

Required: Experience supporting Windows desktop operating system environments

Required: Experience deploying applications across enterprise desktop workstations using modern tools

Required: Experience with a scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, etc.)

Required: Minimum of 3+ years of experience with desktop management solutions

Required: Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Office 365

Required: Desktop Application Troubleshooting

Required: Experience operating in a DevOps culture

Required: Passion to identify, investigate, and drive new technology within the organization

Education and/or Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience

Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in desktop engineering or end-user computing roles

Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in desktop engineering or end-user computing roles

Certificates or Licenses

Preferred: Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, Microsoft 365 Certified

Preferred: Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty

Preferred: VMware certifications such as Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM)

Compensation

The salary range listed for any position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final base salary is determined by skills, experience, and education.

We consider internal equity of current team members as part of any final offer.

Salary typically does not reach the maximum of the range to allow for growth; a substantial benefits package is provided.

All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus; bonuses are not guaranteed.

Salary Range $181,000.00 - $226,900.00

Incentive Range 23% to 30%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award; the target range is listed above. The amount, if any, will be based on various factors including performance.
