This role centers on empowering developers by embedding security into the development lifecycle and automating vulnerability detection and remediation at the source. As a Director on the Developer Experience Product team, you will be responsible for the strategy, vision, and execution of the Continuous Automated Refresh (CAR) program, solving artifact and vulnerability management across foundational software components like container base images and open-source libraries. You will transform our posture from reactive fire-fighting to a proactive, automated, and sustainable state. The ideal candidate is a technology-driven leader who empathizes with developers, communicates well with engineering teams, cybersecurity experts, and senior leaders, and can translate complex technical problems into a clear product roadmap. Responsibilities
Define and champion the product vision and multi-year strategy for automated vulnerability remediation at Capital One. Lead the roadmap for the Continuous Automated Refresh (CAR) platform, evolving it from a program to a mature, scalable product. Collaborate with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Risk to ensure the platform meets security and operational needs of a large enterprise. Understand internal software development pain points and build solutions that make the secure path the easiest path. Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators to measure toil reduction, time-to-remediate, and impact on developer productivity and satisfaction. Drive end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to delivery, launch, and continuous improvement. Act as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert, communicating value and progress to stakeholders at all levels. Capital One Product Framework

At least 7 years of experience in Product Management Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following with the expectation that the degree will be obtained by the start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading product management for developer platforms, DevOps tools, or large-scale enterprise platforms. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in application security, vulnerability management, or software supply chain security. Experience translating complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and risk management. Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives. Salaries are for candidates hired to work within these locations and refer to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. Chicago, IL: $205,400 - $234,400; McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900; New York, NY: $246,500 - $281,300; Plano, TX: $205,400 - $234,400; Richmond, VA: $205,400 - $234,400. Other locations will follow the applicable local pay ranges. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
