Senior Firmware Engineer Location:

On Site - Bohemia, New York, United States Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and optimization of digital circuits and systems using VHDL. Create and execute test plans, perform simulations, and validate designs to ensure high performance and reliability. Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to define and implement solutions. Diagnose and resolve issues related to digital designs, including debugging and optimizing FPGA and software interactions. Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, methodologies, and results for knowledge sharing. Develop project plans, schedules, and resource requirements to meet market demands. Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and expertise in digital design. Research and implement new methods, technologies, and tools to enhance product quality and performance. Must-Have Skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. 8-15 years of experience in digital design and development, including FPGA projects. Proficiency in VHDL and FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx, Altera). Experience with network protocols, including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, and TSN. Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, digital design principles, and high-speed designs. Experience with the DO-254 certification process across all Stages of Involvement (SOI). Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented approach. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork. Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with other hardware description languages, such as Verilog. Familiarity with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and other verification methods. Proficiency in embedded software design using C/C++. Knowledge of additional FPGA tools and advanced verification methodologies. Experience working in Aerospace, Defense, or Space industries.
