The Senior Engineer - FPGA Design will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing custom logic solutions for advanced aerospace systems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of high-quality, reliable, and efficient custom logic designs into cutting-edge aerospace products. Expertise in digital design, verification, and FPGA/ASIC development will contribute to delivering innovative solutions that meet stringent safety, quality, and performance standards. Responsibilities
Design and develop custom logic solutions for aerospace applications, including FPGA and ASIC designs. Perform system-level analysis and requirements definition to ensure alignment with project goals. Conduct simulation, verification, and validation of custom logic designs to ensure functionality and reliability. Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate custom logic into broader system architectures. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in custom logic design and aerospace systems. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in design. Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in computing product development containing SoC device architectures. Experience with Zynq and PolarFire devices in system on chip or system on module applications with knowledge of high-speed data interfaces and functions used in computing applications such as PCIe, AXI bus, SERDES, DMA. Experience with avionics interfaces and protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, A429, A664, and TSN. Experience with Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond, Microsemi Libero, and Xilinx Vivado. Experience in VHDL and UVM test benches. Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise and HyperLynx PI/SI. Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience in Mil/Aero/avionics, DO-254 and Civil FAA certification. Ability to break down complex problems and apply critical thinking. Additional Information
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and is limited to U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Willingness and ability to sit onsite at the Bohemia, NY or Pompano Beach, FL GE Aerospace facility. The posted salary range may vary based on location and cost of living differential. The position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements (FWA) depending on business needs. The base pay range is $145,800.00 – $194,500.00; eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary, as per plan. This posting is expected to close on 12/01/2025.
