Enviromental Health Safety Associate Manager (Field Based)

Overview
ERM is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Associate Manager to support a client’s medical device manufacturing facility in Redmond, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance with applicable regulations and company standards, contributing to an environment where employee health and safety are paramount. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), limited-term role with a duration of 8 months, and the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
Oversee occupational health and safety matters related to facility personnel.
Develop and maintain a systematic occupational health and safety management program to facilitate identification of hazards; utilization of physical safeguards and PPE; training of employees; investigation of accidents and illnesses; and compliance with health and safety legislation.
Evaluate deficiencies; establish and implement written policies and procedures; audits to assess compliance; and provide requisite training.
Manage general compliance matters and projects, assist to ensure compliance with relevant policies, and other federal laws relating to health and safety (e.g., transportation of hazardous materials).
Oversee environmental matters related to facilities and products; develop and maintain an environmental management program; engage management and staff in reducing environmental impacts; and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
Serve as a contact regarding environmental compliance issues; monitor environmental laws affecting products and operations; evaluate deficiencies; establish and implement policies and procedures; audits for compliance; provide training.
Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 to implement ISO 14001 if needed and support/lead sites with ISO 14001 currently in place.
Audit sites for environmental and safety compliance.
Cover worker’s safety, industrial safety, fire safety, ergonomics, HazCom, process/work evaluation, accident investigation, safety trainings, and chemical safety.
Work with management of change/process safety elements including documenting changes in the document control system.
Develop compliance and other identified training as needed.
Advise the EHS Manager and/or the Site Director and supporting site managerial team on all EHS needs and regulatory compliance items.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental Engineering or Medical Technology, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Advanced Certification (CSP, ASP, or CIH) is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to health and safety and environmental protection.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with EHS policy and compliance issues.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Analytical ability and knowledge of business processes.
Ability to create and deliver effective training materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong training and communication skills.
Pay Transparency For the Environmental Health and Safety Associate Manager position, we anticipate an annual base pay of $72,608 to $94,867, corresponding to $34.90 to $45.60 per hour in USD, with a limited-term, non-exempt status. An employee’s pay within this range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. The role may fall outside the range based on these factors. This job may be eligible for bonus pay. (Casual and fixed-term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
