About the Role As a Revenue Focused Staff Accountant, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, the monthly close, quarterly close, and annual financial reporting. Your work will directly impact our ability to grow and scale as a leading Insurance technology company. Location : This is an onsite role based in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities
Assist in the monthly billing process, including billing calculations, generation of invoices, and reconciling deposits, expenses, and customer payment variances; maintain customer contact and payment information Assist with Month-end close, including trial balance account reconciliations, merchant account reconciliations, one-off and recurring journal entries, and processing weekly/monthly bank deposits Assist in processing of new sales orders and manage ongoing customer receivables/collection issues Perform monthly accounts receivable reconciliations and apply payments to customer balances Assist in year-end financial audit and other compliance requirements; research and advise on new accounting standards; document policies and controls Handle ad-hoc requests and projects as needed Qualifications
BA/BS from an accredited university Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Understanding of revenue recognition, cost centers, chart of accounts, and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently and think critically Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Bonus Points
NetSuite and Salesforce experience preferred BA/BS in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university Insurance industry or SaaS experience Equal Employment Opportunity
