Our client, a well-known nonprofit organization in the public health sector, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. This role will handle a variety of AR and accounting functions, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processing. Qualifications & Hiring Criteria

Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s in Accounting required Industry Experience: Nonprofit experience preferred Software Skills: Great Plains (required) Advanced Excel proficiency iMIS experience preferred Experience: Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience Job Responsibilities

Process and prepare daily cash receipts Enter data for Membership, Subscriptions, Publications, and Annual Meeting transactions Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers Administer all aspects of the accounts payable and cash disbursement process, including: Recording invoices Tracking, reviewing, and approving payments Perform general ledger reconciliations Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting work Apply accounting principles in day-to-day responsibilities Maintain flexibility, reliability, and professionalism in interactions with staff, members, and the public Communicate effectively in writing and verbally Use Microsoft Office 365 (Word & Excel required); experience with iMIS and Great Plains a plus Work Environment & Schedule

Location: NW DC Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 35-hour workweek with a 1-hour unpaid lunch Onsite Requirements: Temporary: 5 days in-office After conversion to permanent: Hybrid schedule Company & Compliance
