Overview
Unix/Linux System Engineer role at Trusted Concepts, Inc. (Two Six Technologies is referenced in the original description). The successful candidate will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This role involves participating in the full process lifecycle from technical research to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure through to application/product delivery. The position manages the functionality and efficiency of multiple Unix/Linux domains and supports Windows environments as noted. Key Responsibilities
Lead the Unix/Linux team in performing duties, designing/architecting projects and future tech Stay current with new and emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability Manage configuration and compliance of several Unix/Linux domains Maintain server and system integrity and security through patch approval and processing Evaluate systems/services to move to the cloud and build automated scripts to perform those functions Interact with users and evaluate vendor products Research and recommend hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery Monitor policies and standards for allocation of computing resources Automate standard Unix/Linux tasks in PowerShell and leverage system automation tools to increase efficiency Oversee testing strategies, development environments and document results Provide advice and training to end-users Use VMWare to build/maintain virtual machines and desktop presentations for users Occasional evenings/weekends work as required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline Minimum 10 years of related network engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience Expertise in Active Directory architecture, management, and deep Group Policy deployment Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and software packaging/deployment using SCCM Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare Horizon, and Citrix Virtual Desktop/Applications Knowledge of PKI and certificate management for domains AWS and Azure cloud experience Desired Qualifications
Centrify (Delinea) Server Suite and Privileged Access Server Avamar backup software Linux knowledge Knowledge of iSCSI and storage arrays Networking skills Security Clearance
