Manager, Software Engineering . Your Role The
Manager, Software Engineering
is responsible for leading our Digital Payment Transformation initiatives. This position leads multiple Agile teams responsible for migrating legacy payment applications to modern cloud-native systems using the AWS Serverless stack. The role focuses on design and management of APIs and integrations to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-centric payment solutions. As an engineering manager, you will work closely with product, design, and architecture teams.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage multiple Agile teams of engineers working on AWS Serverless technologies, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Digital Payment Transformation: Oversee technical delivery of digital payment solutions, including migration of legacy payment platforms to modern, scalable AWS-based applications.
Cloud Architecture and Integrations: Provide technical direction for cloud-native architectures using AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.) and oversee integration of internal and third-party systems for secure payment processing.
Project Management: Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software aligned with business goals.
API Management: Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs and microservices powering digital payment solutions with secure, scalable communication between systems.
Technical Leadership: Guide the team in best practices for coding, cloud infrastructure, API design, integrations, and DevOps; perform code reviews and uphold high-quality standards.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the point of contact for leadership and stakeholders, communicating technical challenges, progress, and risks related to digital payment transformation.
Legacy Application Modernization: Develop and implement a roadmap for migrating legacy systems to modern cloud-based architecture with minimal disruption.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay current with technology trends in cloud services and payment solutions to improve business outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable experience
5+ years of software development experience
Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to lead implementation of best-practice controls and processes
Highly organized and results-oriented; capable of providing technical leadership
Ability to communicate sophisticated ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to partner with business counterparts
Effective decision-making under pressure
Understanding of both traditional and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies
Experience leading offshore, nearshore, vendor, and local teams
Experience in hybrid environments (On-Premise, Cloud, SaaS)
Active stakeholder management and clear communication of issues and risks
Experience with APIs and integrations for complex systems
