Langan is seeking a
Senior Environmental Project Manager
with specialized expertise in CEQA to join its collaborative team in
California . In this role, you will lead environmental projects, ensure compliance with CEQA regulations, and manage a range of environmental and engineering initiatives. You will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects aimed at restoring the environment, enhancing sustainability, and supporting the reuse of blighted properties, while adhering to CEQA guidelines and environmental best practices. Responsibilities
Lead CEQA compliance efforts for a variety of projects, including conducting environmental impact assessments and preparing documentation (e.g., Environmental Impact Reports, Negative Declarations, and Mitigated Negative Declarations). Perform detailed environmental analyses to evaluate potential impacts under CEQA (air quality, water resources, noise, traffic, biological resources). Act as a subject matter expert on CEQA processes, ensuring projects meet state and local environmental regulations. Participate in client meetings, offer CEQA-related expertise, assist in identifying and pursuing new clients, and develop work within existing projects; attend business development meetings. Manage junior staff on CEQA-related tasks, providing oversight, coaching, and training to develop their understanding of CEQA processes. Supervise and coordinate field activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and proper data collection and analysis within budget and schedule. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to CEQA timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review progress reports, change orders, invoices, and project billings related to CEQA work. Collaborate with other environmental and engineering teams to ensure integrated and effective project delivery across disciplines and offices. Interface professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure effective communication and project execution. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CEQA regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with latest standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in environmental investigations, remediation, and CEQA-related work. In-depth knowledge of CEQA regulations and procedures, and related state and federal environmental laws. Professional Geologist (PG), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), or Professional Engineer (PE) designation required. Proven experience managing CEQA compliance for complex projects, including preparation of EIRs and environmental assessments. Strong project management, client relations, and leadership skills with experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in quantitative/technical analysis, environmental software, and report preparation. Excellent communication skills (public speaking, written, and verbal) to interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Reliable transportation for client meetings and site visits, with a valid driver’s license in good standing. Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range:
$112,500.00/yr - $171,000.00/yr . The estimated range for this role is disclosed in certain jurisdictions. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, education, certifications, and skills.
