Overview
Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in New York City seeks an entrepreneurial leader with strong financial, strategic, operational, and interpersonal capabilities to serve as a member of the executive leadership team as the Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer (VC-COO). The VC-COO reports to the Chancellor and provides the leadership and strategic vision needed for the business functions of JTS as well as institution-wide oversight for human resources, finance, facilities management, information technology, and legal. Location: Morningside Heights, Manhattan, NY. Date: September 18, 2024. City: New York, NY. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic vision for the business functions of JTS and oversee human resources, finance, facilities management, information technology, and legal. Contribute to institutional strategy formation and execution as JTS advances into the future. Collaborate with the Chancellor, senior administration colleagues, administrative staff, and other constituencies to ensure transparent, accurate, and compliant processes. Work in partnership with the CEO, board of trustees, and internal and external stakeholders to advance institutional priorities within the operating budget and endowment framework. Lead JTS operating activities within a budget of $38 million, an endowment of $150 million, and approximately 200 full- and part-time employees. Qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, CPA) or equivalent experience. Proven track record of senior leadership in operational and financial management. Experience working with a chief executive officer, board of trustees, and internal/external constituencies to implement transparent, accurate, and compliant processes. Open and collaborative leadership style and integrity in leadership roles. About the Search
