This role is based at our headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Appian values in-person collaboration as a driver of our mission. Employees in this position are expected to be in the office 5 days a week to foster culture and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement custom software solutions using Appian’s platform, including modeling database schema, building user flows, and creating UI mockups.
Deliver projects independently or with a small team depending on complexity and scope.
Research, develop, and implement new tools to speed up and simplify application development (with your team).
Ensure all documentation, training, and tooling you develop is maintained, easily accessible, and globally reusable.
Triage and troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support to various business applications.
Qualifications
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field/degree.
5+ years of hands-on Appian development experience.
History of success on cross-functional teams; experience building products using agile methodologies (pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, sprints).
Nice to Have
Knowledge of software testing practices; integrations experience using APIs (REST and SOAP), JDBC connections, and web services.
Familiarity with AWS, AI, Analytics, Machine Learning, or Google Cloud.
