Overview Leidos is seeking a Senior Windows Server Systems Administrator to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). This role requires technical expertise administering Windows servers within a physical and virtual environment. The Customer utilizes an Agile Framework to plan and complete initiatives. This is a 100% on-site position at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Base pay range $112,450.00/yr - $203,275.00/yr

Leidos is seeking a Senior Windows Server Systems Administrator to support NMEC. This role involves administering Windows servers within a physical and virtual environment, handling service inquiries and problems, examining incidents, implementing corrective actions, and performing proactive tuning and performance enhancements. Responsibilities may include software configuration, rebooting, and other remedial actions on customer servers. The Customer uses an Agile framework to plan and complete initiatives.
This is a 100% on-site position. All work must be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Primary Responsibilities
Review C&A documentation providing feedback on completeness and compliance
Perform system installation, configuration maintenance, account maintenance, signature maintenance, patch management, and troubleshooting of operational IA and CND systems
Operate with latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions
Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics
Technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding
Provide technical support, administration, and monitoring of Microsoft Windows systems within a physical and virtual environment
Decommission server(s) upon request through approved engineering change
Install and/or remove service applications and scripting components
Maintain server hardware and software assets in compliance with vendor and lease requirements
Implement capacity planning and tuning actions for server assets
Support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems; distinguish user problems from enterprise-wide issues
Support operations and troubleshooting for end-user workstations and desktop applications
Lead data collection, analysis, and implementation of solutions for incident tickets and requirements
Seek opportunities for continuous improvement to support effective operations
Develop and document solutions to complex technical issues
Provide follow-up reports for Root Cause Analysis and process improvement initiatives
Support a 24/7/365 environment and be able to provide on-call support during outages; may involve shift work
Update operations and monitoring documentation for 24/7/365 Operations Watch personnel
Ensure security and management of Windows servers in multiple production environments
Resolve complex Windows and Hyper-V problems in a dynamic environment
Perform automation tasks through scripting and testing
Provide mentorship and training for junior team members
Basic Qualifications
Experience in a supervisory and/or mentorship capacity
System security engineering expertise in multiple domains including IA concepts and security testing
Experience with Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance
Experience with hardening Windows environments
Significant experience with server operating systems (Microsoft Server 2012 R2/2016/2019)
Proficiency with MECM/SCCM, Active Directory, Exchange, and Virtualization
Experience integrating Windows environments with monitoring solutions (SCOM, Splunk)
Familiarity with supporting virtual desktops running Windows
Extensive scripting/automation experience (PowerShell or similar)
Experience troubleshooting in growing environments and identifying issue trends
Experience with server patch management (SCCM/MECM)
Experience with installing, configuring, and managing AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and other Microsoft COTS products
Strong time management and ability to work in ITSM/ticketing systems
Ability to triage and prioritize incidents appropriately
Strong oral and written communication skills
Track record of working effectively within a team
Experience with requirements analysis, system testing, and quality assurance
Ability to work independently on technical problems
DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) or equivalent CE certification
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience; additional years may be considered in lieu of degree
Generally 4+ years of supervisory or team/leadership experience
Clearance
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a Poly
US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services
Experience operating in a Linux environment
MCSE or MCSA certification
Experience with SAN or network storage
Experience working in an Agile environment
Familiarity with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)
Experience troubleshooting within a security environment
Experience with backup and restore procedures
