Overview
Data Solution Architect at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI). MTSI is looking for a Data Solution Architect. You will lead the design, development, and governance of cutting-edge data architectures tailored to align with organizational objectives and complex enterprise technology ecosystems. You will be a strategic influencer, guiding cross-functional teams and advising senior executives to deliver scalable and secure data solutions, championing industry trends such as data mesh, hybrid cloud architectures, and AI/ML pipelines. Responsibilities Design and govern data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures to support analytics at scale. Develop cloud-native data architectures including data mesh, data fabric, and hybrid environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure systems are intuitive and responsive to user needs. Lead and mentor junior architects and engineers; advise executives and manage cross-functional initiatives. Apply data governance frameworks, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), and maintain security across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Demonstrate expertise in modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse) and data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) with metadata management tools. Design and manage data integration pipelines and real-time streaming (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Flink) using tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica, or Fivetran. Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with business strategy. Experience with AI/ML data pipelines and MLOps is considered a plus.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 15 years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data systems. Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale, high-performance, secure data solutions. Strong communication and leadership skills; experience advising executives and mentoring teams. Experience with governance and security across diverse data forms. Proficiency with Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse. Deep knowledge of data engineering principles, data modeling, and metadata management (ER/Studio, dbt, Apache Atlas). Experience with data integration technologies (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica, Fivetran) and real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink). Educational background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (required); Masters or PhD strongly preferred. Security: Active TS/SCI clearance is required to start; SAP experience preferred but not required; US Citizenship required.

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) DAMA International AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty Google Professional Data Engineer Azure Solutions Architect Expert TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
Mission-Critical Expertise
Prior success in regulated, mission-critical, and government environments; experience designing secure or classified data solutions for sensitive applications
Educational Background
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (required). Masters or PhD in a related field (strongly preferred).
