Located in Shippensburg, PA, the 112-bed facility provides acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults and an adolescent inpatient program (ages 13-17). We also have two outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Responsibilities Monitors and controls accounts receivables. Oversees Business Office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met and net revenue is properly stated. Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor areas of weakness. Monitors and affects relationships between the Business Office, Intake and Utilization Review departments to maximize patient revenue. Improves hospital profitability by continually monitoring costs (especially staffing relative to patient volume), payor mix, and length of stay to maximize reimbursement. Assists in negotiation of contract terms with third-party payers. Prepares pro-forma analyses of new programs and contracts to estimate outcomes. Monitors and evaluates the success or failure of implemented programs, including physician arrangements. Develops policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues. Prepares monthly financial statements and other informational reports/analyses. Through account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls, prepares detailed financial statements to reflect monthly operating results. Provides required reporting, reconciliations, account analyses, and other information for Reimbursement, Tax, and Audit departments to aid in the preparation of reports. Prepares annual budgets in line with UHS standards. Works with management and department heads to review prior results and identify future needs and trends for the facility aligned with UHS objectives. Performs other duties as assigned/required. Job Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a

healthcare setting . Minimum education: a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred. Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations; familiarity with all business office, accounting, payroll and administrative operations including processes from registration through discharge. Ability to interpret financial analyses and performance information; prepare schedules and reports from source data; use electronic spreadsheets; and manipulate data within proprietary and acquired databases.
