Automation Engineering Manager
to join our
Corporate Engineering
team. This role requires a solid understanding of industrial automation systems, along with hands-on experience in
HMI
and
PLC programming . The
Automation Engineering Manager
will play a key role in developing and deploying automation strategies across our operations and will be based at our
Marlborough, MA
location. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:
Architecture, development, integration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment controls systems, manufacturing systems automation, industrial electrical maintenance and design, and human-machine interfaces, and industrial communications networks.
Experience with some of the following is Required :
Rockwell RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, Studio
Rockwell Factory Talk Studio
Inductive Automation Ignition
Rockwell PowerFlex Variable Frequency Drives
Rockwell Point IO and Flex IO systems
Industrial electrical panels and wiring
Exposure and understanding of the following are beneficial:
Industrial flow meters, temperature probes, level sensors, photoeyes, and solenoid valves
Wonderware InTouch, InBatch
Microsoft SQL
AutoCAD
Virtual Server Environments
Programming (C++, Visual Basic, Java, Python, etc.)
Cisco networking hardware
Fanuc Robotic Application
Specific experience
with the design, integration, troubleshooting and startup of bottling and packaging lines and industrial kitchens is desired.
Experience with set up and troubleshooting of industrial networks including Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, AB RIO, AB DH+, and AB Devicenet networks.
Ability to set up and configure VFDs on an Ethernet network or hardwired to a PLC for control and IO.
Basic understanding of industrial Ethernet managed switches.
Develop and make revision changes to wiring schematics and one line diagrams using AutoCAD.
Familiarity with the design and implementation of customized safety solutions for both process and packaging equipment.
Develop and mentor Automation Engineers.
Utilize advanced knowledge of power distribution systems to actively pursue and correct site problems.
Experience with development and troubleshooting of advanced controls, such as servo systems, servo amplifiers, and servo controllers.
Develop and foster strong relationships with Plant Operations teams to evolve current systems architecture and maximize manufacturing efficiencies and output.
Support local operations needs for electrical and automation system support. Create written instructions for local Maintenance department for replacement of operator interface touch screens and Wonderware InTouch PCs.
Responsible for design and maintenance of electrical systems to meet applicable local, state and national codes and standards, including but not limited to NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.
Variable work schedule as required including nights and weekends.
Must be willing to travel to all Ken’s Facilities to assist with project work and meet with direct reports, up to 20% travel possible.
