Overview
Vice President of Technology Engineering (Remote: USA) at Cologix, Inc. Base pay range: $200,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr. This role reports to the President and supports Construction & Operations, with focus on selecting and deploying new technologies for Basis of Design requirements in new facilities, retrofits, and upgrades.
What you do daily
Design short-term and long-term solutions for offerings to customers in line with new advancements in MEP technology.
Demonstrate Cologix values to drive excellence, productivity and customer service, and instill these values in direct reports.
Maintain a positive, collaborative environment and lead teams through change.
Communicate technology-related business decisions to Executive Leadership with context and rationale.
Interact externally with OEMs, vendors, and peers requiring influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Assist with capacity planning, continuous improvement metrics, and engage with advanced operations and technical equipment support engineers.
Collaborate with Energy Solutions on new power delivery options (e.g., Fuel Cells, NG generation, turbines, Recip engines).
Manage performance metrics and participate in Operational Reviews to achieve industry-leading SLAs.
Coordinate with Construction, Operations, customers, vendors, contractors, and building management to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Participate in post-incident reviews as required.
Identify long-term technology solutions (AI, liquid cooling, high-density cooling, power design) to meet evolving needs while maintaining cost-to-build parameters.
Evaluate opportunities to enhance site capacity and efficiency with ROI targets.
Apply LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies to improve customer experience, SLAs, uptime, and network availability.
Apply project management skills for deployment of new technologies.
Focus on power cost reduction and cooling efficiency improvements across facilities.
Serve as liaison between Construction/Operations and customer-facing teams for long-term technology solutions.
Ensure customer support and Operations services meet established quality and time standards.
Qualifications (What makes you a good fit)
7 to 10+ years of progressively expanding responsibilities in colocation data center engineering, including equipment design and engineering, OEM product support, or construction engineering.
Ability to self-manage duties and report progress to senior management on key initiatives.
Flexibility and teamwork across multiple organizations, translating technical conversations into actionable business decisions.
Degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Ability to translate cut sheets, shop drawings, and ROMs from requirements.
Combination of education and experience considered; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Expert understanding of One Line/Singe Line Diagrams and familiarity with various MEP/building design software.
Authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available at this time (no CPT/OPT).
