Overview
Technical Producer II, BU Virtual Studio Operations — Boston, MA. This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position with hours that coincide with early morning and late-night live sessions held Monday-Thursday at the BU Virtual Production Studios. The role involves preparation for and delivery of live broadcast class sessions, operating in professional office environments as well as broadcast studios and production control rooms. End-to-end technical production management using major webinar and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom). Set up, wiring and operation of high-resolution audio-visual equipment, virtual routers, video switchers, digital audio consoles, Mac & PC computers, and video recording software. Oversight and management of live broadcast sessions, including professional contractors and student crews. Provide on-site technical supervision, oversee all aspects of production preparation and live production, labor management, and technical execution. Collaborate with the Teaching Team and Executive Director, Live Studio & Media Center Operations to onboard faculty and teaching teams. Video editing. Keep abreast of industry trends and technology. Required Skills and Qualifications
4-year college degree preferred. 5+ years of work experience. Outstanding customer service mentality. Strong technical knowledge of entertainment equipment and systems, and broadcast streaming platforms (e.g., Zoom). Outstanding organization skills with the ability to lead multiple concurrent projects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience running technical aspects of virtual events across the corporate sector (large conferences to smaller sessions). Experience leading, mentoring, and coordinating teams of staff/crewing (video, projection, staging, rigging, AV). Strong project management and time-management skills; ability to think critically and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexible, dependable, detail-oriented, innovative, and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional events. Working knowledge of edit/graphics programs (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) and productivity software (PowerPoint, Excel). Video/graphic development experience preferred.
