Provide legal defense representation to clients alleging violations of their civil rights, including discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, disability, and other protected characteristics. Conduct comprehensive legal defense research and analysis to support case development and litigation strategy. Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and appeals. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings. Advocate for clients in court proceedings, presenting compelling arguments and evidence to support their cases. Stay updated on developments in civil rights law and related areas, and apply this knowledge to the benefit of clients. Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of cases. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, helping them understand their rights and options. Participate in community outreach and education activities, raising awareness of civil rights issues and the firm's services. Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Must have passed the Bar Examination in the state of practice. A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil rights litigation, with a strong record of successful outcomes. Extensive experience in mediation, with excellent negotiation skills. In-depth knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws, court procedures, and rules of evidence. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective litigation strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts in a clear and persuasive manner. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
