Role purpose Senior User Experience Researchers own end-to-end planning, execution, analysis and reporting of research projects, and consistently achieve research outputs needed by Product teams to inform strategic decisions. The research findings impact Agodas business by informing Product design, user experience, product direction, and market strategy. Responsibilities General Role Expectations: Demonstrates critical thinking beyond explicit business requests Functions independently in all operational research tasks Leads core end-to-end research activities including driving research objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, and communication Research Skills:
Good judgement when evaluating research opportunities, considering importance, urgency, and impact for the team Ability to challenge research requests and propose solid solutions Strong project execution with existing skills while expanding breadth and depth Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods and triangulation of findings Application of tools to quantify value and efficiency of research Ability to adapt established methods to product/project needs and collaborate on new methods with more senior researchers Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn key software tools used in the field (surveys, diary studies, analysis) Awareness of data compliance and ethics in research activities Collaboration & Communication:
Drives cross-discipline collaboration via research insights Collaborates with other researchers and disciplines with clear ownership commitments Demonstrates excellent communication skills; tailors style for different audiences, concise and open to feedback Research Community Contributions:
Contributes to the research community by sharing work/methodologies, coaching or mentoring researchers, and screening candidates Relocation and Benefits:
Relocation package provided for Bangkok-based role Open to worldwide candidates with relocation support Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Social Science, or related field; or equivalent experience 10+ years of relevant experience in consumer-facing business domains Experience planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing and communicating research Experience with qualitative methods (interviews, diary studies, direct observation, think-aloud usability testing) Experience with quantitative research (metrics, surveys, sampling, cross-tabs, statistics) Experience negotiating and working with external research vendors Ability to describe user problems and opportunities to diverse stakeholders using quantitative and qualitative data Strong critical thinking beyond business requests Excellent storytelling and communication with business people, designers, engineers and others (English) Enjoy collaborative work in a dynamic, data-driven, creative environment We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
