Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic
Vice President of Finance
to join our Executive Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the President and COO, this role will provide financial strategy, oversight, and leadership across all lagoons and corporate operations. The VP of Finance will be responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and supporting our growth as we expand across the state.
Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, capital plans, and financial models for growth.
Build forecasting models for attendance, capacities, per-person average (PPA), labor, and operating costs to guide business decisions and optimize profitability.
Partner with operations, food & beverage, retail, and marketing teams to maximize revenue and control costs.
Establish and monitor KPIs, focusing on revenue management, labor efficiency, and per-capita performance.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Oversee financial controls, audits, risk management, and banking/vendor relationships.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
Support expansion initiatives including new lagoon openings and capital projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive role.
Hospitality, entertainment, resort, or multi-unit operations background strongly preferred.
Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and revenue management.
Strong systems knowledge (ERP, POS, financial reporting software).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.
Workplace Environment This is an
in-office
position at the MetroLagoons corporate office based in Tampa, FL. This role will include regular travel to our lagoon properties (currently Wesley Chapel, San Antonio, Wimauma, and Fort Myers).
