Overview

We seek a strategic, experienced Senior Director, Events to lead the execution of a wide range of high-impact client engagement events, including conferences, trade shows, webinars, roundtables and forums. This leader will translate the company event strategy into actionable plans for your portfolio, collaborating across Marketing, Sales, and Business Units to ensure alignment with business strategies and brand goals. The role will apply the latest event technologies and data-driven insights to deliver seamless, innovative, and measurable event experiences. You will report to the Vice President, Global Events, and manage a high-performing team to deliver globally relevant programs, maximize business results, and foster a culture that values creativity, performance, and collaboration.
Key responsibilities Develop and deliver an event roadmap for your assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with Broadridge’s strategic objectives.
Lead the planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, consistently upholding brand, mission, and messaging standards.
Drive programs to grow brand awareness, generate leads, strengthen client retention, and position Broadridge as a fintech industry thought leader; represent the company at designated industry events to maximize thought leadership and brand reach.
Maintain high standards from event concept through post-event analysis, integrating feedback and learnings to continually elevate results.
Ensure all events are inclusive, accessible, and deliver exceptional participant experiences.
Manage budgets for assigned events, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality experiences.
Negotiate and oversee vendor, venue, and service provider relationships to secure favorable terms and excellent delivery.
Continuously assess event program effectiveness and performance to maximize return on investment.
Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, setting clear objectives and supporting ongoing professional development.
Foster a culture of initiative, accountability, and innovation within the team.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales, and Business Unit leaders, as well as external partners, to align event objectives with go-to-market plans and elevate event visibility and reputation.
Provide clear, concise updates and recommendations on event performance to executive leadership.
Leverage best-in-class event and analytics technologies (e.g., Cvent, ON24, Salesforce) to streamline operations, integrate with marketing systems, and enable robust lead capture. Note: in-depth Cvent experience strongly preferred.
Supervise analytics and reporting to deliver timely, actionable insights to the Events team and internal partners. Communicate event performance metrics and actionable insights to team members and stakeholders.
Use data-driven insights and KPI analysis to evaluate event performance, recommend improvements, and drive continuous innovation in attendee engagement and event impact.
Qualifications Role is based in the U.S., with a preference for the New York City area.
10+ years of experience in producing world-class in-person, virtual, and multimedia events on a national or global scale.
Proven success in driving measurable business results (pipeline, leads, revenue influence) through event marketing.
BA/BS degree required; event/marketing certifications (CMP, PMP) are a plus.
Experience in financial services or technology sectors is highly preferred.
Skills and competencies Superior program and project management skills, with a proven ability to deliver complex events end-to-end.
Effective communicator with strong presentation skills and executive presence; able to distill complex ideas for diverse audiences.
Strong client focus with a demonstrated ability to understand needs and deliver client-centric solutions.
Highly influential, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build support and guide key stakeholders at all levels.
High emotional intelligence, empathy, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit; able to work across teams and roll up your sleeves when needed.
Strategic thinker with a global mindset and proven experience working across regional markets and cultures.
Deep business acumen and strong knowledge of marketing, branding, industry trends, and the B2B marketing mix.
Experience leading, inspiring, and developing high-performing teams.
Salary range $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 USD. Bonus eligible.
