Overview
The Executive Assistant provides critical administrative, logistical, and strategic support to the Executive Director and serves as a key liaison to the Rise Up Board of Directors. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with occasional travel as needed. About Rise Up and PHI

The Executive Assistant provides essential administrative, logistical, and strategic support to the Executive Director and serves as a liaison to Rise Up’s Board of Directors. The role manages complex calendars, coordinates domestic and international travel, drafts high-quality communications and materials, and ensures the seamless execution of board meetings, internal operations, and cross-functional projects. The position requires discretion, adaptability, and strong relationship-building in a fast-paced, mission-driven nonprofit environment. Responsibilities
Administrative Support: manage executive calendars, coordinate travel, draft and edit correspondence, maintain confidential files, and support leadership meetings with agendas and action-item follow-up Board Relations: liaison between the Rise Up Board and executive leadership; coordinate board meetings, materials, minute-taking, and retreat planning; maintain board records Project & Event Management: lead special projects, plan and execute organizational events, track timelines and stakeholder communications Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: act as a diplomatic contact for staff, donors, partners, and the public; support donor relations and internal communications Operational Support: develop office procedures, provide backup support to administrative staff, oversee vendor management Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate degree, or substitute with two additional years of related experience Experience: 5 years supporting C-suite executives, preferably in nonprofit settings; project/event management and cross-functional collaboration Other Qualifications
Board liaison or governance experience valued; experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and discretion; ability to work autonomously Decision-making skills as directed by management; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and collaboration tools Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field); ability to pass background checks Compensation & Benefits
Full salary range: $70,296 to $101,911 per year. Typical hiring range is $70,296 to $86,104 based on experience and internal equity.
