Position Description HWCOM is seeking a Manager Instructional Design to join our team of professionals. Responsibilities
Provide leadership on the instructional design and development of courses and trainings aligned with the College of Medicine s curricular and training needs, goals, and standards. Identify existing and new pedagogies and instructional technology to design effective and engaging learning experiences for various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online, blended) as needed. Provide instructional design services to faculty using HWCOM\'s CanvasMed LMS for delivery of course content including online course materials, assignments, discussion sessions, exams, evaluations, etc. Develop and conduct trainings and workshops based on the needs of HWCOM. Provide weekly and regular reports on instructional design team projects and tasks. Utilize project management methodology for planning, tracking, and reporting; use Medzen for intake and tracking of service requests. Develop annual budget growth projections including tech, hiring, and expected outcomes as success factors. Troubleshoot on both the technical and operational side of technology-based programs. Manage a team of instructional designers (IDs). Collaborate with the team to design and produce courses and instructional materials leveraging a wide variety of instructional tools and multimedia services. Recommend appropriate policies, best practices, and administrative procedures in compliance with technology-related issues affecting the security of sensitive information and LCME accreditation requirements. Research best practices to enhance instructional design and delivery with the assistance of faculty, students, and team members. Establish priorities and maintain quality control throughout the course development process; ensure timelines are met. Evaluate and update quality assurance measures to meet HWCOM needs. Provide instructional design services to faculty and course directors using HWCOM\'s CanvasMed Learning Management System (LMS) for delivery of course content including online materials, assignments, discussions, exams, and evaluations. Provide instructional design consultation and collaboration with faculty on curricular objectives for enhancement or renovation of learning materials and pedagogical best practices. Advise and assist faculty to use technology for teaching, learning, and collaboration, including development of interactive blended learning, HyFlex courses, and video communication platforms. Collaborate on planning for instructional technology initiatives with HWCOM and central FIU teams as needed. Supervise and evaluate staff and assign roles and responsibilities for curriculum-based solutions. Provide instructional design services to faculty for course creation and development whether the course is instructor-led or online. Perform essential duties in emergencies (e.g., hurricanes, public health emergencies) and be available to report to work as needed during university emergencies with appropriate notification. Perform related duties as required or directed; omission of specific duties does not preclude assignment of duties logically related to the position. Minimum Qualifications
