Overview
Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Jupiter Power has a history of ventures in the power industry and began developing its project pipeline and proprietary software technology in 2017. In 2019 Jupiter partnered with a leading private equity firm to roll out its project portfolio and will complete construction of its first assets this year. Jupiter Power seeks an office-based Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Projects and Substation Projects. The APM acts as the CEO of their assigned projects and is responsible for project safety, scheduling, the project budget, contract management, and construction quality in alignment with Jupiter Powers expectations. The APM may travel to project sites as needed and will be based out of the Companys Austin, TX, Houston, TX, or Chicago, IL offices. The role is subject to the companys return-to-office policy requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent Familiar with project management processes including budgeting, contract negotiations, change order negotiations, and scheduling, including the use of scheduling software. PMP Certification is a plus. Experience in construction safety (OSHA 30 training certificate is a plus) 2+ years of construction experience, including on-site experience Valid drivers license, eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport for travel outside the U.S. Key Responsibilities
Planning
Supports the overall design of the project, coordinating external and internal engineering resources. Supports the project plan, participates in site kick-off with the construction manager, and close-out meetings for the project. Ensures EPC issues daily JHAs and Plan of the Day. Ensures EPC is on schedule and assists with schedule recovery plans as needed. Supports design RFIs coordination with internal and external engineering resources. Pro-actively engages landowners and ensures their expectations are met.
Safety Accountabilities
Leads by example to show that safety is the top priority, ensuring all employees follow safe practices. Reinforces safe behaviors and corrects at risk behaviors. Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) occur before scopes of work commence. Adheres to and ensures all site team members understand standard operating procedures. Ensures new hires receive job- and task-specific training prior to commencing work (PM, Supers, and CMs). Supports the site team in technical, quality, and safety, utilizing systems in place.
EPC Relationship Management Accountabilities
Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with Jupiters expectations. Strengthens and continually maintains EPC relationship.
Budget
Accountable for the project budget, costs to date, forecasts cost to completion, procurement and materials management.
Contract
Ensures EPC is following the Contract and reviews Change orders. Makes field purchases of project related materials and equipment as required. Maintains a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of variances. Ensures that the overall terms of the main EPC contract are passed on to the subcontracts.
Compensation & Benefits
$110,000 - $130,000 This pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Jupiter Power considers a number of factors when determining starting compensation such as the position requirements and the candidate's qualifications. In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity programs.
