Overview

Machine Learning Signal Processing Engineer at Leidos. The role involves applying machine learning and signal processing skills to state-of-the-art research and development problems, with a focus on remote sensing data (SAR/RF, acoustic, EO/IR, LIDAR). The position supports detection, tracking, data fusion, and classification, and may involve developing combat identification (CID) algorithms trained on synthetic data. The role is based in Ann Arbor, MI or Beavercreek, OH with onsite requirements and some remote work possibilities. Primary Responsibilities

Work with teams on the research, design, and development of sensor exploitation systems including signal processing, automatic target recognition, and signature modeling. Collaborate with customers to address mission requirements by researching and developing new capabilities and improving existing systems. Rapidly and iteratively implement new algorithms to address challenges. Develop Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms using Python, MATLAB, C++, and other languages for real-world applications. Leverage AI/ML tools to improve ATR system performance. Provide technical leadership for tasks and programs. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years or Master’s degree with related experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Mathematics. Strong programming ability in Python and/or C/C++ for Linux environments. Knowledge of configuration control (versioning, etc.). Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning packages (e.g., Scikit-Learn, PyTorch). Effective communication of technical solutions to coworkers, teammates, and customers. Active SECRET clearance or higher, with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. US Citizenship Required. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Automatic Target Recognition algorithm development. Experience with SAR and/or SAL data and sensor systems (monostatic or bistatic). Experience developing computer vision applications. Experience with multi-sensor data fusion. Employment Details

Location: Ann Arbor, MI or Beavercreek, OH. Job type: Full-time. Senior/entry level: Entry level. Onsite requirement: Approximately three quarters of duties on-site due to sensitive work; some remote work possible. Pay range: $67,600.00 – $122,200.00.
