The Student Success Coach fosters the development of students’ skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in college and beyond. The coach works with students to identify and overcome obstacles to learning, promote academic self-efficacy, and connect them with appropriate resources across the University. This position plays a key role in supporting all new students, with a primary focus on first-year students, and contributes directly to Roosevelt University’s retention and student success goals. There are 3 openings for this position. The salary range for this position is $49,500-$50,500. Title IX Contact Information:

Commitment to Roosevelt University’s mission of social justice, inclusion, and equity. Ability to coach students toward self-advocacy and resilience. Familiarity with university systems such as Banner, Slate, and Navigate (or similar). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with students in an educational setting (student worker, part-time, or full-time professional role). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, including first-generation and Pell-eligible students. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret student data and use it to inform support strategies. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Student Development, or a related field. Experience with predictive analytics platforms (e.g., EAB Navigate, EdSights) and student communication systems (texting/chatbots). Experience supporting students on academic probation or in recovery/re-engagement programs. Bilingual or multilingual proficiency. Responsibilities

Student Coaching & Skill Development:

Provide individualized academic coaching in study skills, time management, decision-making, and self-advocacy for early-college students. Support students in developing self-regulation strategies to promote academic self-efficacy and persistence. Create and maintain customized academic roadmaps for students who are out of sequence with the standard curriculum (academic recovery or probationary students). Conduct personalized outreach and ongoing coaching support for students who have stopped out or are at risk of stopping out, encouraging re-enrollment and persistence. Data-Informed Student Interventions & Re-Engagement:

Interpret and apply results of predictive analytics (EAB Navigate, EdSights) and non-cognitive assessments to identify at-risk or stopped-out students. Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty, and Enrollment Management staff to design personalized support and re-engagement plans. Partner with Student Success and Enrollment Management teams to track progress and outcomes of re-engagement outreach. Campus & Resource Navigation:

Collaborate with departments and offices across the University to strengthen the referral process and increase student engagement with campus resources. Provide guidance on navigating university systems, including transfer articulation processes. Collaboration, Program Development, and Other Duties:

Work closely with faculty, advisors, and student success staff to design, implement, and assess student support initiatives. Contribute to university-wide retention and student success strategies through data sharing and reporting. Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment. Job is largely sedentary, with frequent movement around the office and buildings. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling (typically less than 10 pounds). Regular use of desktop computer, with associated hand/wrist activity.
