Overview
Site Leader at Vertiv. The Site Leader will provide world class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile orders of Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. Acts as the primary Vertiv on-site technical representative from construction start through start-up, site acceptance testing, and project completion. Builds and maintains strong rapport with customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others; collaborates with the Project Manager on cost controls, schedule adherence, resource management, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Duties & Responsibilities
Provide jobsite technical leadership for large projects Become factory certified on a variety of products that interact with Liebert systems Maintain leadership of on-site teams (1-2 Project Leaders; crews of 1-10 Technicians) Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings and communicate technical requirements for the day’s schedule Lead and support start-up and site testing activities; ensure sufficient manpower for start-up and testing Provide daily status reports to Service Management, Project Management, and sales representatives Technical Responsibilities
Stay current on Vertiv equipment start-up, commissioning processes, procedures, and tools Stay informed on Safety Bulletins, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips Safety Responsibilities
Lead daily toolbox talks, pre-job safety walks, inspections, and drive corrective/preventive actions Work safely according to guidelines and wear required PPE Adhere to work hours policy; report accidents within 24 hours Demonstrate safety leadership and STOP WORK authority when needed Administrative Responsibilities
Adhere to Vertiv Warranty process with the Project Manager Provide accurate and timely reporting (timecards, expense reports, mileage, SR/task closure, etc.) Assist Project Manager with obtaining technical data and maintaining project systems Maintain company property per policy (PPE, equipment, laptop, etc.) Customer Satisfaction
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers Align customer expectations with Vertiv activity and re-align when necessary Maintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelines Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following: ASEET (preferred), ASMET, six years of military experience in a related field, or minimum 2 years in industrial construction management Interpersonal skills: Vertiv behavior practitioner, strong organization, independent operator, strong communication, customer relationship building, teamwork under pressure, executive presence Knowledge of electrical/electronic test equipment and ability to read electrical diagrams and blueprints Technical skills: site evaluation, reporting, on-site leadership, COHE, site acceptance testing, computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, data analysis), familiar with networks Mechanical aptitude Working Conditions
Long-term assignments 4 weeks to 12+ months depending on project scope Travel with field rotation and on-site availability for 40 hours per week; some administrative duties during service breaks Industrial new construction or retrofit environments Flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays Valid driver’s license; deployable for emergencies Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, smell. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include near/far/color/peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment.
