Overview

Director, Partner Business Development at Affirm. This role is focused on sourcing, negotiating, signing, and activating impactful partnerships across Payment Service Providers (PSPs), gateways, e-commerce platforms, and emerging verticals such as Travel and Invoicing. The leader will own deals end-to-end and drive merchant adoption and distribution through strategic partnerships. What You’ll Do

Strategic Partnership Development: Define and execute a strategy to identify, prioritize, and secure strategic partnerships within target verticals (PSPs, Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, Travel, Invoicing, etc.). End-to-End Partnership Lifecycle: Lead the full lifecycle from opportunity identification and qualification through negotiation, contract execution, activation, and ongoing management. Activation and Scalability: Create activation plans with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales) to translate partnerships into merchant adoption and transaction growth. Market Insights: Maintain deep understanding of the payments landscape, trends, and opportunities to inform strategy and collaboration models. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Finance to ensure seamless integration and ongoing success. Executive Communication: Report partnership strategy, progress, and KPIs to senior leadership. Relationship Management: Cultivate executive-level relationships with key partners. What We Look For

Minimum of 7 years in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles within payments, fintech, or related sectors. Proven track record in sourcing, negotiating, and signing significant partnerships that drive growth. Experience in activation strategies that yield tangible outcomes (merchant adoption, transaction volume). Strong understanding of PSPs, Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, and emerging verticals like Travel and Invoicing. Knowledge of partnership models, contract negotiation, and financial implications. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all levels. Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities; willingness to travel as needed. Base pay and equity details are provided with the job posting and may vary by location and experience. Affirm is remote-first with flexible work options. Benefits include health coverage for you and dependents, Flexible Spending Wallets, vacation and holidays, and an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP). USA On Target Earnings (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $285,000 - $360,000. USA On Target Earnings (all other U.S. states) per year: $253,500 - $328,500.
