Affirm is seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented Director of Business Development to drive strategic partnerships across distribution channels. This role sources, negotiates, signs, and activates impactful partnerships across Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, and emerging verticals such as Travel and Invoicing. The leader will contribute to Affirm’s strategic imperative of accelerating product distribution through scalable solutions. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, the Director will own deals end-to-end and drive merchant adoption through high-value partnerships. What You'll Do

Strategic Partnership Development: Define and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying, prioritizing, and securing strategic partnerships within target verticals (PSPs, Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, Travel, Invoicing, etc.). End-to-End Partnership Lifecycle: Lead the full partnership lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification and qualification through negotiation, contract execution, activation, and ongoing management. Activation and Scalability Focus: Develop and implement activation plans with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to translate signed partnerships into merchant adoption and increased transaction volume, maximizing value beyond initial signing. Market Expertise and Insights: Maintain a deep understanding of the payments landscape, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and opportunities within target verticals to inform strategy and innovative collaboration models. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Finance to ensure seamless partnership integration and ongoing success. Executive Communication: Present partnership strategy, progress, and KPIs to senior leadership. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with key partners. What We Look For

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles within payments, fintech, or related sectors. Proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and signing significant partnerships that drive substantial business growth. Experience developing and executing activation strategies that result in tangible outcomes (merchant adoption, transaction volume). Strong understanding of PSPs, Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, and experience in emerging verticals like Travel and Invoicing. Knowledge of partnership models, contract negotiation, and financial implications. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop data-driven strategies and track performance. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities; willingness to travel as needed. Compensation and Benefits

Pay Grade - N. Equity Grade - 12. Affirm provides a transparent pay structure based on location, experience, and job-related skills. For sales roles, the On Target Earnings (OTE) includes base pay and incentives. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision for you and dependents). USA On Target Earnings (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $285,000 - $360,000. USA On Target Earnings (all other U.S. states) per year: $253,500 - $328,500. Note: visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Work Location and Benefits

Affirm is remote-first. The majority of roles are remote, with occasional need to work from an Affirm office. A limited number of roles may be office-based due to job responsibilities.
