What We’re Looking For Iridium is seeking an ambitious and motivated Senior Product Manager to join the Government Team. You will drive the development of new products and services, working with partners to create solutions for Government customers. Success comes from relevant technical knowledge, the ability to think tactically and strategically, strong communication across levels, and experience in a matrix-management, virtual/in-person, dynamic environment. This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance.
What You’ll Do
Work independently to plan and execute the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and driving product vision internally and with partners and Government customers.
Drive implementation of products and services with partners and Government contracts to maximize user adoption, improve time to market, reduce costs, ensure quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Define and document simple, efficient processes for customers during development.
Support creation and modification of license and other agreements for partners and Government customers.
Support business capture activities within the Iridium government portfolio (e.g., input for white papers, proposals, and technical meetings).
Train personnel and support partners’ implementation of products, services, or operations projects.
Manage support of existing products and services as adopted by partners and customers.
Facilitate enhancement of capabilities and partner maintenance activities (end-of-life, regulatory changes, operational issues).
Collaborate with resellers, manufacturers, developers, and service providers to ensure the best outcomes and continuous improvements.
Leverage advanced knowledge to enhance policies and procedures while supporting sales and guiding engineering/product development.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
10+ years of relevant experience in Government-funded programs related to telecommunications
5+ years of direct product management experience in a technical industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey products, analyses, and issues clearly
Strong teamwork and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Proactive relationship-building with colleagues and senior leaders; ability to provide constructive feedback
Analytical problem-solving with ability to generate and implement solutions
Creativity, resourcefulness, and decision-making under ambiguity in a dynamic environment
Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with others
Detail-oriented, results-driven, organized, and self-motivated
Nice to Have
Advanced degree in a technical discipline or business
Experience with communications technology and/or positioning & timing tech for U.S. Government platforms
Experience delivering software products in an Agile environment
Experience with electronics-based solutions development, manufacturing, and integration
Experience with IT environments, cloud architecture, and best practices
Experience with Windows and Microsoft Endpoint Manager
Experience with Android and mobile device technology
Experience in creating functional specifications, schedules, and delivery plans
Comfort with ambiguity of new products, scenarios, and incubation work

Work Environment This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary, with most work conducted at a computer. The role requires typical office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
