Overview

Senior Antenna and RF Research Engineer I at CesiumAstro. We are developers and pioneers of out-of-the-box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The role focuses on designing, simulating, building, and testing high-frequency active phased array antennas, with primary emphasis on PCB-based multi-beam antenna systems for space and airborne applications. As a member of the CesiumAstro advanced development team, you will help define the company’s antenna technology roadmap and align research efforts with business development insights and company strategy. You will stay up to date with the latest antenna research, contribute to concept studies, and present results and strategy to stakeholders. Responsibilities

Contribute to defining and advancing the antenna technology roadmap in alignment with business goals. Propose and contribute to concept studies related to antenna and RF technology. Present research results, strategies, and milestones to stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Lead or collaborate on research projects spanning from phased-array antennas to IF electronics, with a focus on PCB-based multi-beam systems for space and airborne platforms. Stay current with latest research and industry trends in EM/RF and related fields. Minimum Qualifications

MSc or PhD in electrical engineering (preferred). Minimum 6 years of industry or university research experience covering antenna design, RF systems design, and RF prototyping and testing. Expert-level proficiency in EM and RF system simulation, optimization, and tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS). Expert-level proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python). Expert-level proficiency in antenna range and over-the-air measurements including setup, test planning, and calibration. Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. Proven ability to define work direction, track milestones, and progress on large open-ended projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience

Experience with EM/RF optimization software. Experience with EMI/EMC standards and test procedures. Metrology knowledge applicable to measurement result analysis. Experience in aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification. Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000 per year.
