Sumaria Systems Acquisition Policy and Process Analyst Location:
Hybrid - Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Pentagon, and other office locations within the National Capital Region (NCR). Clearance Requirement:
Active TS/SCI required (SAP eligibility preferred) Years of Experience:
5+ years supporting DoD, Air Force, Space Force, or National Security Space acquisition programs Position Overview
We are seeking an Acquisition Policy & Process Analyst to provide policy, research, and executive-level support for enterprise-level acquisition activities. This role supports senior leadership in space acquisition decision-making, program oversight, and strategic portfolio integration. The ideal candidate will bring experience in space acquisition, Air Force acquisition programs, and familiarity working alongside senior DoD executives, Program Executive Officers, and decision-making forums. Key Responsibilities
Serve as an Action Officer for high-priority acquisition policy and process tasks. Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple DoD organizations to coordinate research, analysis, and recommendations. Provide inputs that enable senior leadership to make informed policy and oversight decisions. Conduct extensive research on acquisition statutes, Title 10 authorities, and regulatory policies. Gather and analyze information across legal, financial, and operational domains to inform acquisition decisions. Present findings and recommendations through briefings, background papers, and decision support materials for executive-level leadership. Provide logistical and coordination support for executive-level forums, including strategy panels, review boards, and leadership councils. Manage pre-meeting planning, agenda coordination, briefing material preparation, and follow-up actions Assist with onboarding new personnel and coordinating cross-functional tasks. Support administrative needs, including meeting supply management, troubleshooting basic IT issues, and fostering a collaborative team environment Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, business, engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of relevant acquisition experience, with emphasis on space programs, Air Force acquisition, or National Security Space portfolios. TS/SCI clearance required; SAP eligibility highly desirable. Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, policy development, and interagency collaboration Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level briefings and reports. Preferred Expertise & Background
Background supporting space acquisition programs or related national security space efforts. Familiarity with enterprise-level acquisition forums and executive decision-making processes. Experience collaborating with cross-functional DoD stakeholders and managing competing priorities. Proven ability to support O-6, SES, or Flag/General Officer-level engagements.
