Overview
Electronics Applications Engineer II (Hybrid) at North Atlantic Industries. Hybrid role requiring on-site days in Bohemia, NY. Responsibilities
Provide pre- and post-sales product information, advice and technical assistance to prospects toward the goal of achieving new design wins. Communicate with customers via telephone and email to understand project technical system requirements. Advise and participate with the prospect during customer test and evaluation activities. Develop a position as the first-line technical interface during the design-in process. Coordinate additional support activities and post-sales technical support with engineering departments. Provide documentation, hardware/software revisions, specifications, test data and ancillary technical requests in a timely manner to support the design-in process. Determine product technical strengths and weaknesses vs. competition in design-in contests. Communicate internally product challenges and customer-specific requirements for resolution. Major Activities And Tasks
Recommend specific products based on the prospect’s application and environmental requirements. Identify customer-specific requirements and/or preferences as part of design-in selection. Consult with prospects on appropriate utilization of the company’s products. Participate in troubleshooting to determine hardware/software problems that could impede design-in success. Coordinate technical support to overcome design-in difficulties. Become familiar with the company’s new products and ensure documentation is current. Generate technical design-in status reports. Document special customer requirements and/or application utilization needs. Attend training courses on new products. Inform the account sales person of competitive information or product difficulties learned during design-in. Maintain ongoing contact with the customer to ensure continued technical satisfaction with the product(s).
Qualifications
BSEE / BSET or a four-year degree in a technical discipline is required. Some knowledge of embedded bus architectures (VME, CPCI, etc.), processors and/or related products is a plus. 3+ years of experience in a technical support role is desired. Language Skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Other Skills And Abilities
Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently toward focused goals. Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Benefits
