KPMG is seeking an Associate Director to join our Enterprise Contracting Center, State & Local Government Team. Responsibilities include applying advanced contract management knowledge, leading programs and negotiations, and supporting contract lifecycle management within a service-management framework. Responsibilities
Apply advanced knowledge of contract management to drive a service management-centric strategy for Enterprise Contracting Center (ECC) contracts teams; develop contract negotiation strategy to mitigate business risks and ensure regulatory compliance; work autonomously, leading programs, projects, or initiatives, and make decisions while identifying nuanced situations that require ECC senior leadership input Act as end-to-end single point of contact throughout the contract management process; review client redlines and terms using playbooks/guides; escalate clauses for review to SMEs, RM, Independence and OGC as needed; negotiate directly with clients Manage contract portfolio by retaining executed contracts and supporting documentation for quarterly business reviews, internal audits, and client claims; analyze matters with varied fact patterns of medium complexity and provide guidance Interface with partners, professionals, and external clients to drive outcomes; create contracts from standardized templates and clauses; discuss key business/regulatory risks with clients and provide guidance on applicable terms Manage Contract Lifecycle Management System (CLMS) to maximize contract value; analyze and initiate process-improvement ideas to enhance client value, efficiency, and quality; contribute to tactical plans and oversee execution Provide active coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing with junior staff; manage and review work product; plan for short-term needs and may contribute to annual resource deployment plans Qualifications
Minimum eight years of recent experience in contract management, procurement, or deal desk leading negotiation of complex contracts and overseeing a team of contract management professionals, preferably in the professional services industry in Federal, SLG or commercial contracting Bachelor's degree; master's degree or NCMA certifications preferred Ability to identify risks and improvements across contracting processes; comfortable working with data and ambiguity; capable of balancing attention to detail with strategic objectives Ability to manage complex programs and projects; develop trusted advisor relationships with engagement teams and business leadership; understanding of leading contract lifecycle management practices Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and negotiation skills; able to work collaboratively or independently Ability to set goals, participate in strategic initiatives, and develop high-performance teams; experience in planning resource needs KPMG LLP and its affiliates comply with local, state, and federal laws regarding recruitment and hiring.
