The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine seek a nationally recognized leader on the clinician-educator or investigator track to be Section Head of Oncology and Director of the Liquid or Solid Tumor Program. This leadership role is supported by an endowed faculty position/chair in the Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate should have a national reputation in pediatric oncology and a vision for growing a center of excellence in clinical, research, educational and advocacy missions. The qualified applicant will have a strong track record of research/scholarly productivity, program development/operations experience, and demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills. We seek an outstanding candidate to lead the Oncology Section and the Brain Tumor Program to the next level of excellence. The Oncology Section currently comprises 9 pediatric oncologists, 8 advanced practice providers, and collaborates with pediatric surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and ancillary service providers. The program engages in clinical trials through investigator-initiated efforts and participation in consortia such as the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia (TACL), as well as basic/translational and outcomes research. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Division of Hematology, Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation at Lurie Children’s Hospital is highly ranked nationally and includes 28 physician/physician-scientist faculty, 2 PhD research faculty, and 38 advanced practice providers across Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation, with a diverse federally funded and industry-sponsored research portfolio. We have an outstanding ACGME-accredited fellowship program with 10 to 11 current fellows and advanced fellows. Qualified candidates will have strong leadership skills and the ability to work with teams on patient-focused, division-centric and hospital-wide initiatives. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. Responsibilities

Lead the Oncology Section and the Brain Tumor Program to the next level of clinical, research and educational excellence. Direct the Liquid or Solid Tumor Program as part of an endowed faculty position/chair. Develop and oversee program operations, clinical trials, and translational research in pediatric oncology. Mentor faculty, fellows, and staff; foster multidisciplinary collaboration with surgical, radiation, pathology, and supportive care teams. Lead hospital-wide initiatives and advocate for the center’s missions in patient care, research, and education. Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD or equivalent degree; board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology. Advanced training in pediatric oncology and a strong national reputation in the field. Experience in program development, operations, leadership, and mentoring. Academic rank determined by track record and experience. Application Process
